Artist’s Statement: "Transforming Kirchner’s vertical woodcut poster into a large horizontal expressionist painting, I replace the original figure with a contemporary nude male body holding a bourbon glass. The inscription “1906 / 2026 — THE BRIDGE REMAINS” refers to the 1906 Die Brücke manifesto and its call for youth, freedom, and authentic creation against established powers. Set 120 years later, the work suggests that the same tensions between individuality, authority, art, and social constraint remain unresolved."
